POM Announces 7th Annual Christian Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Training – Theology and Practice

March 5, 2013
The accredited training is set for May 20-24, 2013 at the Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Peace officers are the barbed wire that separates the sheep from the wolves. To survive and win in this important vocation, to truly "protect and serve," they must always be alert to predators, on guard against bushwhackers, practiced in tactics, equipped for battle, strong with integrity, guided by principal, driven by mission, and grounded in belief. Peace officers daily confront the failures of the human condition. They are inundated in a sea of sin and overwhelmed by a litany of loss. The necessary remedy they bring to the gross breakout of sin is enforcement of the law. But law has its limits, and finally, personally, it cannot save us from the sinful human condition that infects every one of us. The need for our heroes to know Christ as the ultimate peace officer and to understand their vocation as His servant for good, is clear. Peace Officer Ministries, Inc. (P.O.M.) is dedicated to “Serving Those Who Protect and Serve Us” by sharing and outfitting our heroes with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are pleased to join with Concordia Seminary for our 7th Annual Christian Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Training – Theology and Practice, May 20-24, 2013. Open to all chaplains, pastors, officers, and individuals who seek to minister to officers and who desire to be equipped to serve as resource in community crises and disasters. Applicants are welcome from all denominations. Our course is unique in the world. What makes it one of a kind? We teach the biblical theology of ministry to Law Enforcement as well as “how to” chaplaincy. We teach a ministry model and a missiological “Great Commission” understanding — how do we present Christ to officers and others in crisis and disaster?
