JEHOVAH'S
WITNESS
DENNIS CHRISTENSEN AGAIN PUT IN ShIZO

The
Jehovah's Witness
(organization ruled to be extremist in R.F.) Dennis Christensen,
who was
convicted of extremism and is serving his punishment in the Lgov
correctional
penal colony No. 3 (Kursk oblast), was again put into the
punishment cell
(Shtrafnoi IZOliator—ShIZO). As reported on the website
"Jehovah's
Witnesses in Russia," the administration of the penal colony
made this
decision in attempting to get Christensen to do tasks that are
contraindicated
for him for medical reasons.
The
Jehovah's Witness
was placed in the ShIZO for 10 days. This is now the third time
that
Christensen has been put into the punishment cell. The man was
previously given
this punishment for the same reason: the man refused to do work
that is
contraindicated for him. On 26 June 2020, the believer was put
into the ShIZO
for ten days and then his detention was extended another five
days because he
had been in a dining room at the wrong time and he had been in
the barracks in
a tee-shirt, without a jacket.
We
recall that
Jehovah's Witness Dennis Christensen was charged with creating
an extremist
association (part 1, article 282, CC RF). In late May 2017, the
believer was
arrested in the city of Orel. On 6 February 2019, the
Zheleznodorozhny district
court of the city of Orel sentenced Christensen to six years in
a penal colony
of general regime. About a year ago, the Jehovah's Witness got
the right to a
probationary early release. On 26 June 2020, after several
refusals, the Lgov
district court finally granted the petition of Christensen's
lawyers for parole
and required the believer to pay a fine of 400,000 rubles after
he was set
free. However, the prosecutor's office filed an appeal against
this decision.
On 4 September 2020, the Kursk oblast court, having considered
this appeal,
reversed the decision of the Lgov district court and remanded
Christensen's
case for a new consideration. (tr. by PDS, posted 15 September
