A resident of Rostov was found guilty of crimes against the sexual inviolability of minors and of participation in the activity of an extremist organization, the press service of the S.K.R. [Investigative Committee of Russia] reported.

"It was established that in the period from 2006 to 2008, the 58-year-old man committed violent actions of a sexual nature against his own three minor daughters and their girlfriend," the report says.

These crimes were uncovered during the investigation of the case concerning his extremist activity. From 2017 to 2019, the man participated in the activity of Jehovah's Witnesses in Rostov, despite that fact that he knew about the liquidation by decision of the Russian Supreme Court of the religious organization "Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia" and its local associations.

"He studied and brought to the attention of the populace the contents of religious literature of an extremist nature, he conducted preaching and agitation activity among persons who were not its adherents, and he also participated in conducting religious meetings and collective worship services," the press service of the S.K.R. reports.

The Rostovian was sentenced to 11 years incarceration in a correctional prison colony of strict regime, with restrictions on his liberty for a year.

As of the present moment, the sentence has not taken legal effect. (tr. by PDS, posted 17 September 2020)
