The group interrupted the shooting over the alleged placement of flags belonging to the Muslim League and SFI in front of the temple. The right-wing group members also said that they would not let the shooting continue as the movie is about romance between a Hindu and Muslim couple.

According to the filmmakers, the group came to the shooting location and asked the crew members about the plot of the movie. After hearing the movie plot, they demanded that the shooting be stopped.

The film crew said that the right-wing group members alleged that the film promotes 'love jihad' and religious conversion and claimed that they will not allow the film to be shot anywhere.

The filmmakers also said that the group destroyed the shooting equipment and called them 'terrorists'.

According to the crew members, the shooting was started only after getting permission from the temple authorities.

Sreekrishnapuram police reached the shooting location and investigated the situation. The filmmakers have decided to shift the shooting of the movie to another location.

Famous film director Shaji N Karun and Malayalam short story writer Ashokan Cheruvil have expressed their protest over the incident.

The incident comes soon after Naveen K Razak and Janaki Omkumar, two students at Thrissur Medical College in Kerala, danced to Boney M's Rasputin song, and the incident took a communal turn.
