Ambassador Edy Korthals Altes recognized as a Peace Hero by the Mayor of the Hague

On behalf of the Religions for Peace global family, allow me to extend my sincere congratulations to Ambassador Edy Korthals Altes on his recent recognition as Peace Hero, an award bestowed upon him by the Mayor of The Hague (in The Netherlands), Mr. Jan van Zanen, on April 22, 2021.

The Ambassador’s personal and professional achievements in the fields of global peace and security, inter-religious cooperation, and spiritual renewal have long been admired and respected by the Religions for Peace movement. His outstanding service and contributions to Religions for Peace as a former President and now Honorary President, continue to be deeply appreciated. His leadership, wisdom, vision, and engagement continue to strengthen the Religions for Peace mission. As we celebrate the Ambassador’s Award, we also are reminded, diligently, by him, that the very origins of the Religions for Peace mission – to prevent a nuclear conflict – remains more pertinent than ever.
