10th Circuit Hears Oral Arguments In Ministerial Exception Case

On Tuesday, the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments (audio of full arguments) in Tucker v. Faith Bible Chapel International.  In the case, a Colorado federal district court refused to dismiss on the pleadings a ministerial exception case. At issue is whether a science teacher and chaplain/ director of student life at Faith Christian Academy is a "minister" for purposes of the exception.  Plaintiff  was fired after he organized a controversial chapel service titled "Race and Faith."
