Crimean Pentecostals fined for violating Russia's anti-evangelism law

"BREAD OF LIFE" CHURCH OF CHRISTIANS OF EVANGELICAL FAITH IN KERCH FINED 30,000 RUBLES

On 4 May 2021, a magistrate judge of judicial district No. 48 of the Kerch judicial district found a local religious organization, the Bread of Life Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith, guilty of committing the administrative violation of law specified in part 3 of article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of the R.F.

 

The cause for holding the congregation accountable were established instances of "violations of law" revealed in the course of a prosecutorial inspection. Thus, according to information of the court's record, video recordings distributed by the congregation lacked identifying labels with the official complete name of the aforesaid religious organization, as did official pages of the congregation on social media.

 

The court assigned an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 30,000 rubles. (tr. by PDS, posted 31 May 2021)
