The Dalai Lama advised an audience in Louisville over the weekend to forgive the April 15 Boston Marathon bombing suspects.
“Forgiveness does not mean you accept their wrongdoing,” the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, said, The Associated Press reported. “No. You must oppose [it]. But the wrongdoer? For that, forgiveness. You should not keep negative feelings, anger, for that.”
The Dalai Lama was in Louisville as the last stop of a multicity sweep through the United States. He spoke mostly on compassion, AP reported.
“We really need a more compassionate attitude, not only toward the human being, but also some other species of mammals, including fish and different birds, different animals,” he said, AP reported.
