Ireland set for more UN pressure over abortion

Ireland is to appear before the UN Human Rights Council for one its ‘periodic reviews’ on November 10, and true to the normal pattern, a number of Irish organisations are pushing UN Human Rights Council to recommend a more permissive abortion law in Ireland. Read more here.

Ireland and the Church: where we’ve come from, where we’re going

WE are very pleased to invite you to our next talk which will be delivered by Senator Ronan Mullen and Iona Institute director, David Quinn. They will speak on the topic, ‘Ireland and the Church: where we’ve come from, where we’re going’.

Ireland and the Church have been through tumultuous events in recent years, including the arrival of Covid-19 in Ireland.

David will look at the radical changes brought about by recent referendums and what they say about us today.

He will also discuss the impact of Covid-19 on Irish society, including the Churches.

Ronan Mullen will look ahead at where Ireland and the Church are likely to go from here and how we should respond. He will above all urge us not to give up hope and remember that history and Providence still have many surprises in store.
