February 2022 Newsletter
Thank you for reading our newsletter and taking an interest in the ARDA. We are excited to continue our mission of bringing you free, high-quality data on religion.
Ahead of the Trend Articles:

Ahead of the Trend is a collaborative effort between the Religion News Service and the ARDA. Check out these two new articles
since our last newsletter:

Interested in even more great coverage of religion and current events? You can find all of our Ahead of the Trend articles here.
Social Media Conversations:

This month, we posted about the perceived morality of ignoring drivers in the snow, religion in Paradise (town in California), prominent people in religious history, whether religion influences the way people see the world, how religious teachings help people make decisions about right and wrong, and even favorite NFL teams.

We also regularly post about conferences, new research, lectures, podcasts, and other opportunities of interest to our readers.

Anniversaries of Historical Events:

In February, there are many anniversaries of significant events in religious history. These include the formation of Cumberland Presbyterian Church (1810), the Supreme Court decision in Everson v. Board of Education (1947), and the formation of the Alliance of Baptists (1987).

In addition to reading about these single events, you can delve into substantially more religious history by viewing any of our nine interactive timelines. These include specific timelines dedicated to religious groups, women, race/ethnicity, and more.
Feature of the Month:
Congregational Resource Center

If you have questions about religious congregations and their communities, this is the place to check! We have FAQs, links to dozens of resources, and even announce things like our calls for seminar participants. We also provide external links to resources beyond ARDA that are helpful for congregations. Check it out here.
Additional Updates:
Information on the next U.S. Religion Census (formerly RCMS)

Wondering when the 2020 U.S. Religion Census data will be available? We're excited, too. The collecting body, ASARB, plans to release the data to us by early summer of 2022. And don't worry - we'll promote it heavily once we have it! Stay tuned for more.
