The Local Changemakers Course

Many people are worried about FoRB (Freedom of Religion or Belief) violations in their community but unsure of how to make a difference. FoRB Learning Platform is delighted to present a new, important set of learning materials designed to empower local communities to make change – The Local Changemakers Course!

Register for the launch of the English, Arabic and French course materials, at a digital event on May 25th. Read more about the launch below.

The Local Changemakers Course focuses on developing knowledge, transforming attitudes and building skills for action, using a methodology that combines interfaith understanding and a rights-based approach. Easy to adapt to different contexts, the course has been tested by interfaith groups in Jordan, India, Nigeria and Tanzania.

The course materials contain everything community educators/facilitators need to run a series of nine sessions. There is detailed guidance on how to run each session and an extensive set of materials to use, including PowerPoint presentations, posters, game cards, and presentation scripts to adapt and edit.

All course materials will be published on forb-learning.org one week before the event. The materials are free for any person or organization to download and use. Initially, the materials will be available in Arabic, English and French, with more language versions on the way.

In this two-part event you can find out about the course, try out some of the exercises and meet the facilitators who have run it.

Part 1: Digital launch event

Meet the international interfaith reference group that took part in developing the course and discuss if and how the course materials might be useful in your context.

Both parts of the event will be held in English with simultaneous translation to Arabic and French.
