Report on “Conversion in the asylum procedure: new developments, old challenges” is online

13 July, 2022

A report on Conversion in the asylum procedure: new developments, old Challenges is now available online. The publication is an outcome of an event held by the Churches Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) in January 2022 in collaboration with CEC, COMECE and the European Evangelical Alliance.

The report provides a unique and overarching insight into the complexity of the Christian conversion process. It tackles the issue of the credibility assessment within the asylum procedure, when conversion is invoked as a reason to claim asylum. The aim of this report is to shine a light on this topic, but also to promote the exchange of good practice, and to foster cooperation between the different stakeholders involved.

Along with the contributions given and a summary of the discussions, the articles on the practice in different countries will make the report an important reference publication.
