What do the findings from the Pew Research Center's major new survey of Jewish Americans mean for the future of U.S. Jews and their role in American public life? On Oct. 10, 2013, Pew Research brought together leaders from the Jewish community for a round-table discussion, then published a transcript of the event. Some of the nation’s socially conservative leaders gathered in Washington last weekend for the Values Voter Summit, which included a panel discussion on “The Future of Marriage.” While majorities of those who identify as white evangelical Protestant, Republican or politically conservative oppose same-sex marriage, support for same-sex marriage has risen even among these groups over the past decade.
