A terrorist group inspired by Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the car bombing outside a military building in the Sinai Peninsula that wounded six soldiers in Ismailiya.
After the attack, a second bomb was found in the area, which was later defused.
AFP reports that the group posted a statement on jihadist forums.
"We, Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, announce that we are responsible for the attack against the building of military intelligence in Ismailiya (carried out) with an aim to clean Egypt of dens of criminals and collaborators," the statement read.
The group warned people to stay away from army and police buildings, calling them legitimate targets.
The Sinai Peninsula has seen an increased frequency of attacks after the Morsi government was ousted in a coup on July 3 since the Morsi government was . Over 100 policemen have been killed in attacks in the peninsula.
