RESIDENTS wanting to find out more about the Hindi religion and philosophy, will have an opportunity later this month with an exhibition on the 19th century Hindu monk and yoga missionary Swami Vivekananda and ancient Indian civilisation.

The exhibition is running on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 in Redditch Library and will showcase short films and exhibits on yoga and the traditional medicine ayurveda, temples and ancient architecture, Indian art, dance and music, and on Swami Vivekananda.

There will be a chance to try a taster session in yoga at 12.30pn on Saturday, October 26, and a public ceremony with lamp lighting at 2pm, which will be attended by Redditch mayor Wanda King, the police commissioner of West Mercia, Karen Lumley MP, and former Redditch mayor Madge Tillesley.

The exhibition has already been staged at several venues in the United States, as well as in more than 35 towns and cities around the UK.
