ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Monday said the opponents wished to impose their version of civilization and brand of religion on 180 million people of Pakistan.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Dr Farooq Sattar said his party leader Altaf Hussain had been constantly saying for the last 10 years that the war against terrorism is our own battle and today all the political parties second this stance.

“We held negotiations with those who defied constitution and the writ of the state. They are the enemies of Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan”, Sattar said.

He said the extraordinary circumstances also existed in Pakistan when the terrorists unleashed their barbarism on the General Headquarters and the minorities’ communities.

Farooq Sattar said the Geneva Convention and Human Rights chartered don’t apply to the people involved in war crimes.

He said we were divided in the past but the prevailing circumstances require from us to be focused on rooting out the menace of terrorism from the country.

“The time has come to expel the hypocrites from our ranks,” he said.
